HOME CARE NURSING SERVICE
The homecare nursing service is offered to patients with special needs, the elderly, or to those needing medical assistance due to:
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Head injuries (following an accident, surgery etc.)
- Rehabilitation (after surgery, car accident etc.)
- Stroke
- Radiotherapy/Chemotherapy
- Palliative care
- Parkinson’s disease
- Alzheimer’s
- Diabetes
- Arthritis
- Mental or physical disabilities
Included in the homecare nursing service, nurses will assist in the following tasks:
- Administering medication
- Exercise routine
- Hygiene needs
- Recording fluid/food/supplements intake
- Wound dressings
- Catheter care
- Assistance with mobility
- Liaising with your public health nurse, G.P., the hospice homecare team, the patient and the family
- Administering oxygen or nebulisers
- Care of tracheotomy patients
- Pressure area care
- Administering PEG/NG feeds
